Andrew Ross, Chairperson
Andrew has lived in Hobart since 1991 – born in Scotland and grew up as a teenager in Sydney. He has spent the past 40 years working in executive management, as a management consultant, and an academic. He holds a Bachelor of Business, Master of Economics, and Master of Science (Strategic Focus) and is a Fellow (and founding member) of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants.
Prior to his retirement in 2016, Andrew was Deputy CEO and CFO of Blundstone Australia for 16 years with a diverse set of responsibilities including oversight of the finance, IT, and legal areas of the business as well as having executive responsibility for risk management and strategy development and implementation. During his last 10 years with Blundstone, Andrew also had overall management of International Sales including brand and product development.
Having retired from active management, Andrew now uses his time to support his family – which includes 11 grandchildren (with one more on the way). He also teaches courses at UTAS in the areas of entrepreneurship, finance, and risk management.
Andrew has extensive experience as a Company Secretary, Board member, and advisor to a number of Boards. He is looking forward to using this experience as a member of the RFT Board to further progress the aims and objectives of the association in its important work with those who struggle with mental health issues.
